Valentine’s Day has always been a lot of fun to me. Making and giving Valentine’s to my friends and family, school parties, and of course….the chocolate! My sophomore year in college Valentine’s Day took on a whole new meaning though.
Mr. T. and I have a long, long story of how we met. Finally though, we planned to actually go out on a date. But, when we made the plan neither of us realized it was Valentine’s Day! So, our “first date” ended up being on Valentine’s Day!
To us, this is our real anniversary. We did end up getting married (not until after we had I. and a house together though!), and that day is special, but to us, Valentine’s Day means more. We never left each others side after that. We’ve been partners, and best friends ever since.
Because of this, we usually celebrate Valentine’s Day in special way. Less special now that we have 3 kids and lots of bills…but still special to us. Some years we’ve done special dinners, or special gifts. Other years, just making a special meal at home, or sharing some time together…..when we can finally find some where just the two of us are around that is!
This year, it’ll be 15 years since that very first date. And I wouldn’t trade any of them!
