blog-peanut-butter-easter-eggsIf I haven’t said it before, I’m a HUGE, HUGE fan of peanut butter and chocolate together.  So, you can imagine my delight when I found this recipe at allrecipes!

I’m actually getting ready to make these today for the kids (and I) to have on Sunday.  If you’re looking for a tasty homemade treat to give your friends and family this easter, these will be a big hit.  You can even decorate them with icing and candies to make them a bit more festive if you’d like!

Ingredients

1 16 oz package of confectioner’s sugar

1 C creamy peanutbutter

1/4 C butter

1-4 T milk

8 1 oz squares of semi sweet chocolate or milk chocolate

1 T shortening

Directions

Combine confectioner’s sugar, peanut butter, butter and milk in a bowl and blend until blended.

Then, form mixture into egg shapes – you can make whatever size you’d like and freeze for an hour, or, refrigerate for a few hours.

While the eggs are freezing melt the chocolate and shortening in a double boiler.

Once eggs and chocolate are ready, dunk eggs into chocolate using a fork.  Drain, and set on wax paper until the chocolate hardens.  Then decorate as desired or leave as is.
