A few weeks ago I posted about my poor sick computer. Well, it died. It was the hard drive. So, we sprung for a new machine. Not only that though – we also bought a monitor and cordless keyboard and mouse so I could work at the desk with a big screen and key pad when I wanted/needed to, but also could be mobile with the laptop.
It’s a fantastic setup, and makes me so happy! The new girl is zippy and solid, but lightweight – and the whole setup ended up being a pretty good price for all that we got. It makes it much easier to do work, and it’s a great help to Mr. T. too as he can plug his sweet little netbook he recently got into the big monitor and keyboard too!
One of the things we were lacking on the last computer was virus protection software. I don’t know if that’s what killed the old one, but it easily could have been. I’m all over the place on the internet for work doing research and such….and you never know when you’ll get hit with a virus or malicious malware that’s going to take over your whole computer.
We sprung for some solid protection this time! We went with Symantec (aka Norton) and I was able to find some nice Norton coupon codes to lower the price a bit. Regardless, I don’t want to have to be spending this money again for quite awhile. And while I don’t know that it was a virus that killed the old one – I’m learning in my old age that you just can never be too careful!
So, at this point, my lovely new computer is here, my nice big monitor, keyboard and regular mouse is here, and my antivirus software is all here. I’m such a lucky girl to be able to have all these nice pieces of equipment to make working at home possible and, more comfortable!
Mr T. looked at as many reviews as he could, found the best components for the best price, and bought everything for me….I didn’t even have to lift a finger!! Yes, I really am so fortunate!
And now (hopefully), I can sit back and enjoy my new computer setup for sometime to come!
