I've got more than half ready for compost, just gotta do the last part just beyond the strawberries.
Even though we’ve got the house on the market, I’ve still got to have a garden. I wasn’t going to. But then I thought about the fact that we may be here awhile still, and if we are, wouldn’t I want to have my garden going?
I hate the idea of putting a bunch of work into it and then not getting to reap the rewards because we’re gone, but, I also don’t want to grow a bed of weeds in my garden. And if it’s a nice garden, it might actually be a bonus for someone moving in. Plus, if I don’t get to enjoy my garden, that means we sold the house…and very very good thing!!
So, I ordered my seeds!
I usually order all of my seeds from FedCo. Seeds; a company based about 30 min from my house! My backup is Seeds of Change, who has very nice offering of all organic seeds…and is based in New Mexico, about 45 min from where we used to live!
In addition to the strawberries and asparagus already in the garden, we’ll have (well hopefully have) greens, spinach, carrots and pie pumpkins, peppers and tomatoes. Sounds like a nice garden….can’t wait to get it going!
First comes a bit more hard work weeding and prepping the garden. Then maybe I can get something to grow. Until then, I gotta get myself off the computer and into the garden!
